Abstract
1380306 Vinylchlorosilanes UNION CARBIDE CORP 15 Feb 1972 6854/72 Heading C3S Vinylchlorosilanes are prepared by heating a mixture of vinyl chloride and a chlorosilicon hydride to a temperature of between 400‹ and 500‹ C. The reaction is preferably conducted in a reaction zone heated to between 440‹ and 500‹ C. using residence times of from 5 to 50 seconds. If desired the reactants may be preheated prior to thier introduction to the reaction zone. The chlorosilicon hydride reactant is suitably of the formula R n HSiCl 3-n , wherein R denotes a hydrocarbyl group such as alkyl, aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl, and n is 1 or 2. Examples describe the preparation of vinyltrichlorosilane and vinylmethyldichlorosilane.
