Abstract
1380024 Corrugated films E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 26 Jan 1973 [28 Jan 1972] 4103/73 Heading B5B [Also in Division B6] A corrugated polymeric film comprises a plurality of non-corrugated lanes 1/32 to 1/8 in. in width running transverse to the direction of the corrugation lines. There may be 2 to 6 lanes per inch, and the film may be À00025 in. to À0035 in. thick with a stiffness transverse to the corrugation lines significantly greater than a film which does not have non-corrugated lanes. The lanes are formed in the corrugated film by a metal roller which has raised projections. The film may be regenerated cellulose, polypropylene polyester (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate), high density polyethylene, or laminates thereof. The film is preheated to 50 to 100 C. before corrugation, and may be oriented in one or both directions.
