Abstract
1380020 Lifting installations COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE 18 May 1973 [19 May 1972] 23729/73 Heading F4R A lighting installation comprises a dustproof housing 2, a light source 10 and at least one heat exchanger, 14, 16 through which fluid is passed to cool the gas filling the housing. The exchangers 14, 16 may be located between the housing and a reflector 24, cooling the gas, which may be air, by convection. Alternatively, in the case of powerful sources, e.g. in excess of 3 kw, forced air circulation may be achieved using a fan 50. The source 10 may be a xenon arc tube. The exchangers may be watercarrying parallel tubes surrounded by cooling fins. Filtered air may enter the housing at 32 to give a superatmospheric pressure within the housing, vents being included in the end plates at 34. The light exit 4 may have an infra red glass filter 36 and a panel of toughened glass 38.
