Abstract

1379811 Weft measuring drums SULZER BROS Ltd 1 March 1972 [4 March 1971] 9495/72 Heading DIE A weft measuring drum 11 has a guard 31 to prevent the weft 7 from slipping over the back of the drum. The weft is wound on the stationary drum by a flier tube 5 which passes through the guard 31, tube and guard rotating together, the drum 11 is rotatably mounted on the flier shaft 8 and held stationary thereon by magnets, the length of coil on the drum is monitored by a photo electric device 26 and a bristle brake 17 is provided. A number of different shaped guards and drums is described.
