Abstract

1379689 Napkins E J JACOB 3 May 1972 [12 May 1971 13 April 1972] 20653/72 Heading A3V A baby's disposable napkin 1 is provided with strip fasteners 2 each having non-extensible terminal segments 4, 5 and a central freely extensible elastic segment 3, one terminal segment 4 being attached to the napkin and the other 5 having a pressure sensitive adhesive coating protected before use by a release liner. The strip fasteners may be made from a piece of elastic material the two ends of which have been rendered non-elastic by having inelastic material laminated or coated thereon, or by heat-sealing. In one embodiment, the edges 6, 7 of the napkin are folded over towards the middle the terminal segments 5 of the two fasteners 2 are initially integral with one another and are securable from one another by the provision of lateral perforations therebetween.
