Abstract

1379640 Inflatable liferafts BEAUFORT (AIR-SEA) EQUIPMENT Ltd 25 July 1973 [28 April 1972] 1979/72 Heading B7A To facilitate entry from the water into a liferaft 14, a boarding station comprises an inflatable tube 10 which is attached to a buoyancy side wall tube 12 and a system of ties made from rope or webbing 18, 22, 24 to provide foot and handholds. The ties 18 are connected to an upper buoyancy tube 16 and an outer part of the tube 10 and may be connected (as shown) to the underside of the raft. The tube 10 is inflated at the same time as the tube 12 via a valve which prevents the tube 12 from deflating should the tube 10 puncture. A plurality of such boarding stations may be provided around the perimeter of the liferaft.
