Abstract

1379423 Pitch OSAKA GAS CO Ltd 8 Sept 1972 41790/72 Divided out of 1292008 Heading C5E Pitch is produced by heating to 320‹ to 470‹ C. at a pressure of at least one kg./sq, cm. a starting tar which is (a) coal tar having a flash point of 30 to 140‹ C. and absolute viscosity of 20 to 1000 centipoise at 50‹ C. and containing 5 to 30% by wt. of 0‹ to 270‹ C. fraction, and/or (b) oil gas tar having a flash point of 20‹ to 130‹ C. and absolute viscosity of 10 to 500 centipoise at 50‹ C. and containing 10 to 35% by wt. of 0‹ to 270‹ C. fraction, to produce gas, oil and pitch, and the pitch is separated from the oil by distillation. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,292,008.
