Abstract

1379058 Press ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 5 May 1972 [6 May 1971] 20991/72 Heading B5A A press in which a body of powdered material is isostatically compacted in a cylinder with end closures projecting into the cylinder which is surrounded, during a pressing operation, by a stand which takes up the axial forces exterted on the end closures by the pressure within the cylinder, is characterized by the construction of an end closure 2 through which pressure medium is fed into the cylinder. The closure 2 has an axial bore 4 receiving a first cylindrical unit 6 with an axial channel 8 and a radical channel 9, and a radical bore 5 receiving a second cylindrical unit 10 with an axial channel 11 aligned with the channel 9. The units are interconnected by a bushing 12 with seals 17, 18. The unit 6 is sealed in its bore by a seal 7 and the closure is associated with a seal 3. In a modification, Fig. 5, not shown, the first cylindrical unit (22) seats in a recess (21) in the closure, the recess being parallel to the cylinder axis, and the axial channel (23) in the unit is connected by a sealing sleeve (27) to a channel (26) extending to the lower face of the closure.
