Abstract

1378235 Polyurethane coated polyester films LA CELLOPHANE 20 Oct 1972 [22 Oct 1971] 48494/72 Heading B2E A polyester film carries an anchoring layer comprising a cross-linked polyurethane resin derived from a hydroxyl terminated polymer of 1,6-hexanediol and adipic acid, having a molecular weight of 1,500 to 3,500; and toluene diisocyanate, diphenyl-methane diisocyanate, or a mixture thereof. The film may be stretched nonaxially or biaxially, and comprise polyethylene terephthalate or copolyester containing either terephthalic and isophthalic acids or terephthalic and fatty acids. The polyurethane resin is preferably applied in a composition containing a cross-linking agent and solvent, and cured in situ. Silica anti blocking agent may be added (Ex 2), or alternatively kaolin.
