1377984 Vehicle controls J L HOUGHTON [trading as HOUGHTON DEVELOPMENT CO] 21 May 1973 [20 Feb 1972] 39101/71 Heading B7H A brake pedal 1 is actuated in a horizontal plane about a vertical pivot 2, the opposite end of the podal being supported by a ball race 3. An accelerator pedal 5 is mounted on a pivot 6 on the top of the pedal 1. A sheathed control cable 7 is provided between the pedal and throttle control (not shown), a stop 8 for the cable being carried by the brake pedal. The brake and accelerator may be operated simultaneously in "heel-and-toe" manner.
