Abstract

1377898 Brake pressure control valves GIRLING Ltd 31 July 1972 [31 July 1971] 25477/74 Divided out of 30625/71 Headings F2F and F2E A brake pressure control valve assembly, for use in a dual braking system having two fluid pressure sources arranged for simultaneous operation and first and second pressure lines connecting the sources to first and second brake actuators, comprises a control valve inserted in the first line having a spring 13 normally holding the valve open and including an annular seat 7 an axially movable closure member 9 fast with a stem 11 engageable by a piston 21 responsive to failure in the second line to move axially into engagement with the stem to unseat the closure member. A warning device 20 for indicating failure in either pressure system comprises a piston 21 normally balanced at its centre position and movement of which, due to pressure unbalance, operates a switch 25.
