Abstract

1377820 Electric railways PAUL VAHLE KG 27 Sept 1972 44528/72 Heading B7L A current collecting arrangement comprises a box like elongate support 11 of plastics material having current collector rails 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17 mounted therein and base portions 116, 116<SP>1</SP> for supporting a current collector body 21 also of plastics material, the collector sliding within the support 11 and having contacts 23 in contact with the current collector rails and in connection with a lead 22 passing through a slot 17 between the base portions 116, 116<SP>1</SP>, the current collector body 21 being lined with metal sheet 26 on its base surface 214, preferably stainless steel, and plastics material sliding members 24 being located on the end faces 211, 212 of the body 21, the members 24 projecting laterally beyond the cross-sectional width of the body 21 but terminating with clearance from the rails 12, 13, 16, 17. In an alternative embodiment the rail 14 is omitted and the upper ends of the members 24 are covered by sheet metal strips.
