1377614 Azo-pyridone dyestuffs IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 20 Dec 1971 [4 Jan 1971] 39947/72 Divided out of 1377612 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs, free from sulphonic and carboxylic acid groups, of the formula wherein A is an aromatic (including heterocyclic) radical, Y is H, alkenyl or optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, T is C 1-6 alkyl, Hal is Cl or Br, and n is 1 or 2 are prepared by halomethylation of the corresponding 3- unsubstituted pyridones. They may be applied from aqueous dispersion to polyamide, cellulose acetate and triacetate and polyester fibres.
