1377252 Road clearing apparatus G HEIDT 10 Feb 1972 [5 Oct 1971] 6371/72 Addition to 1333621 Heading E1G In a road sweeping machine of the kind described in Specification 1333621, and comprising a scraper blade carried by a retaining bar 1, or by a helical torsion spring, which is fitted on a vertically adjustable and laterally extensible metal-rubber spring 12 mounted at one side of the vehicle chassis such that the blade is in front of the rotating broom, additional lateral adjustment of the blade is provided for by securing the retaining bar 1 or torsion spring on a shaft 7 which is longitudinally slidable within a sleeve 8 fitted on the internal elements 10, 11 of the metal-rubber spring 12, the shaft 7 being locked in a desired position relative to the sleeve 8 by a locking pin 16.
