Abstract

1376700 Gear-shaving HURTH VERWALTUNGS GmbH 9 Feb 1973 [27 June 1972 28 June 1972] 6348/73 Addition to 1355762 Heading B3K The toothed gear-generating tool of the Parent Specification is modified so that the number of teeth in the tool, and the number of teeth in the workpiece to be produced, have a factor in common, and the pitch sequence of the gashes is arranged in as many series as such factor, i.e. work teeth Z1, Figs. 4, 5,=4, tool teeth Z2=14, common factor=2, and therefore every second workpiece tooth would remain unmachined if the edges in successive groups 1-8 lay on a single helix, so a plurality of helices is provided, and since there is a common factor 2, there are two series of tool teeth provided by edges 137-143, and 146-152. The edges of the first and second series need not be disposed in the common planes of groups 1-8, and one series may provide a roughing operation, with the second series providing a finishing operation.
