Abstract

1376195 Sheet forming; seaming non-metallic sheet material MAXWELL PLASTICS Ltd 23 Aug 1972 [27 May 1971 18 June 1971] 17660/71 and 28720/71 Headings B5A and B5K Articles, e.g. gloves or bags, are formed from thermoplastic material, e.g. polythene, by feeding double films 1, 2 formed by, e.g. a flattened tube, folded web, or separate sheets on opposite sides of a paper web 5 between a heated tool 7 and a platen 8 to fuse each double film along the outline of the article, and webs 10, 11 of silicon coated paper are fed with the films 1, 2 to prevent them sticking to the members 7 and 8. The finished articles together with the web 5 are wound on to a reel 20, and waste material is taken off by reels 18, 19. In Fig. 2, not shown, a double web of paper 5, 5a is used.
