Abstract

1375469 Waveguides CABLES DE LYONALSACIENNE-GEOFFROY-DELORE 2 June 1972 [4 June 1971] 25992/72 Heading H1W A waveguide comprises a hollow metal conductor 3 of uniform thickness and crosssection and having two perpendicular axes of symmetry along which the dimensions are unequal and the conductor is within a plastics sheath 4, the dimensions of which are such that the moments of inertia of the waveguide about the two axes are substantially equal. Other conductor cross-sections are rounded rectangles and ellipses, Figs. 2. 3, 4 (not shown). A process for making such waveguides includes the deformation of a circular conductive tube followed by the extrusion of the plastics sheath which can be of polythene.
