Abstract

1373948 Making light signal units EUROMATION ENSTALT 6 Dec 1971 [12 Dec 1970] 56489/71 Heading B3A [Also in Divisions F4 and H2] Light signal units, see Division F4, are made by shearing a metal strip 28 to obtain a number of shaped elements 29 each including conductor elements 3, 4 one of which has a discontinuity 12 therein. An insulating plastics body 2 provided with a recess 13 exposing the discontinuity 12 is moulded on each element 29 and then the elements 29 and the individual terminals 5 are separated by shearing the metal strips 30. The terminals 5 are then clawed to respective conductors 6 of gas discharge bulbs 1 and a current limiting resistor 11 is inserted to bridge the discontinuity 12 in the conductor 4. After testing the electrical characteristics of the units they may be separated by shearing the longitudinal strip 31.
