1373520 Railway sleepers FRANZ PLASSER BAHNBAUMASCHINEN-INDUSTRIE GmbH 31 Dec 1971 [5 Jan 1971] 60931/71 Heading E1G In a railway track comprising concrete sleepers 2 extending beyond the rails 1 by about one third of the gauge at least two sleepers 2 are rigidly connected to at least one longitudinal concrete support 5a and/or 3a which extends beneath the rails and/or along the track axis to form a sleeper grid 7. Each sleeper and support may be of integrally cast prestressed or part-stressed concrete. The longitudinal supports of adjacent sleeper grids, shown spaced for clarity, are connected end to end along the track, as by interfitting, bolting or adhering, three forms of connection (10), (13), (14) being illustrated in Figs. 5-10 (not shown).
