Abstract

1372394 Selective signalling NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 14 Oct 1971 [14 Nov 1970] 47895/71 Heading G4H In a time-division multiplex system, pulses in respective channels are converted into pulses at respective times each of which is converted into a binary-coded signal which is transmitted, a receiver performing a reverse conversion, the conversions to binary-coded using rectifiers and at least one inverter, the resulting bits being progressively delayed by delay circuits. In the transmitter of Fig. 2A, actuation of a switch 30, 32 or 34 in channel A, B or C produces a single pulse from a generator 36, 38 or 40, which gates a clock pulse from 42 at a time depending on the channel (due to delays 44, 46) to a respective group of diodes 60 and inverters 68, 70 to produce a coded group of pulses representing the channel, the group being serialized by delays 62, 64, 66 of different amounts and OR gate 72. The serialized coded group for a given channel falls entirely within a time duration equal to the delay of 44 or 46, so the coded groups for different channels are produced and transmitted without overlap. In the receiver of Fig. 2B, the reverse conversion is performed using inverters 88, 90, diodes 80, delays 82, 84, 86 and AND gates 92, 94, 96 to recognize the coded groups. Control of devices in vehicles &c. is mentioned.
