1372386 Catalytic fluidised bed system BAYER AG 23 Aug 1971 [25 Aug 1970] 21737/74 Divided out of 1372385 Heading B1F A fluidized bed catalytic reactor system comprises (a) a two-zone reaction chamber comprising a catalyst mixing zone 9 having at least one steam inlet 7, and a reaction zone 10 situated above the catalyst mixing zone and having at least one nozzle inlet for reactants 6; (b) a catalyst regenerator 11 connected by conduits 4 and 13 to the reaction zone and to the catalyst mixing zone; and (c) a cyclone 5, or system of cyclones, connected by conduits to the reaction zone. The regenerator may be a fluidized bed. The conduit 13 may be provided with a steam inlet 8. The apparatus is useful for the seam cracking of 4,4 dimethyl 1,3 dioxane into isoprene.
