Abstract

1372359 Vehicle lamps JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 18 Nov 1971 [26 Nov 1970] 56329/70 Heading F4R A vehicle lamp assembly 12 comprises a base 13 and a lens 14 detachably secured together to define an enclosure housing the light source, a clip arrangement 21 releasably secures one end of base 13 with the vehicle body 11, and a screw threaded shank 16, extending through a clearance hole in base 13 and engaging a screw threaded plate 15, releasably secures the other end of base 13 to the vehicle body 11. The shank 16 has a hexagonal head 16a and a hexagonal recess 16b at opposite ends so that it can be engaged by tools for rotation thereof. Abutments 19 on the base 13 resist rotation of plate 15 relative thereto. The complete lamp assembly can be fitted into a recess in the vehicle body using the internal end 16b of the shank for effecting the securing. After mounting, the lens 14 is detachable from base 13 by screws 18, which exposes the head 16a of the shank to facilitate removal of the base when required.
