Abstract

1371131 Punching KALININSKY ORDENA TRUDOVOGO KRASNOGO ZNAMENI KOMBINAT ISKUSSTVENNOI KOZHI 17 Feb 1972 7326/72 Heading B3W [Also in Division B4] A press for cutting out blanks from a strip 34 of rubber, artificial leather, cardboard or metal comprises a cutting tool 4 adjustably mounted on a vertical support plate 3 which is connected to a frame 1 by hinges 11 at one side and by a releasable lock 12 at its opposite side; a horizontally movable member 9 for co-operating with the tool 4 and a strip feeding device 5 drivingly connected with the member 9. The cutting die 4 is held by clamping levers 19, operated by single acting cylinders 21, against an axially adjustable member 15 which is engaged in a threaded aperture in the plate 3. The strip 34 is pressed against the cutting edge of the die 4 to cut out a blank 35 when the member 9 is reciprocated by a crank drive 10, the member 9 comprising a plate or a punch. During the return stroke of the member 9, the waste strip 34 is pushed off the die 4 by a spring biased stripper ring 22 and the cut out blank 35 remains within the hollow die 4 to be subsequently discharged on to a conveyer 25 driven independently of or from the crank drive 10. The strip 34 is advanced to enable the next blank 35 to be cut out by rollers 26, driven from the crank drive 10 via ratchets, and rollers 27 pressed against the strip 34 by air cylinders 31. The strip waste is discharged on to a conveyer 32 driven independently of or from the crank drive 10. The die 4 can be replaced by unclamping the levers 19 and releasing the lock 12 by an air cylinder 13 to enable the support plate 3 to be swung about the hinges 11.
