Abstract

1369861 Mattresses &c J NESBIT-EVANS & CO Ltd 25 Sept 1972 [25 Sept 1971] 44803/71 Heading A4M An elongate bed or mattress supporting structure comprises a series of support frames 10-16 hingedly inter-connected along transverse axes, a sheet of fabric 20 extending continuously over the frames from one end of the structure to the other and secured at the sides to attachment members, such as 30, at the frame sides, and means operable to displace the attachment members at one or both opposite sides to adjust the fabric tension. In one embodiment, Fig. 2, the attachment members 13 are displaceable to vary their spacing apart by means of screws 32 bearing on a fixed frame part 34. Alternatively, the spacing apart may be effected by a turnbuckle. In an alternative arrangement Figs.6, 7 (not shown) the fabric 20 is wound around rollers at the frame sides, the rollers being adjustably rotatable about their longitudinal axes to vary the fabric tension.
