Abstract

1369129 Cyclic imidic acid esters VEBACHEMIE AG 14 July 1972 [16 July 1971] 33109/72 Heading C2C Cyclic imidic acid esters of the general formula in which n is 1 or 2, Ar is an aryl radical and R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> are identical or different radicals and are hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, OH, COOH, CN or halogen, are prepared by reacting aromatic mono-nitriles or dinitriles (in which the nitrile groups are not ortho to each other) with aminoalkanols of the formula H 2 N-(CR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>11</SP>) n+1 OH. Examples describe the preparation of (a) p-phenylene-bis-2,2<SP>1</SP>-(#2-oxazoline); (b) 2 - (p - cyanophenyl) - #2 - oxazoline; (c) p - phenylene - bis - 2,2<SP>1</SP>- (4H - 5,6- dihydro - 1,3 - oxazine); (d) 2 - (p - cyanophenyl) - 4H - 5,6 - dihydro- 1,3 - oxazine; (e) m - phenylene - bis - 2,2<SP>1 </SP>- (#2 - oxazoline) ; (f) 2 - phenyl - #2 - oxazoline; (g) 2-(p - tolyl)- #2 - oxazoline; and (h) 2 - phenyl - 4H - 5,6- dihydro-1,3-oxazine. Compounds (b), (c) and (d) are claimed per se.
