Abstract

1368884 Ingot mould and feeder head linings DR K ABLEIDINGER & CO 7 March 1972 [23 April 1971] 10581/72 Heading B3F Fireclay plates for lining ingot moulds or risers have a specific gravity of 0À5 to 0À9, a refractoriness (i.e. Seger Cone value) of 1690‹ C., a fire resistance under pressure at 0À5 kp. cm.<SP>-2</SP> of 1400‹ C., a t a point up to 1250‹ C., a t c10 point up to 1450‹ C. and a porosity of 75%, the pore volume being so distributed that 75% of the pores show a mean diameter of less than 0À1 mm. The t a point and t e10 point are defined in German Industrial Standard DIN-51064 and refer to the temperatures at which a test specimen is compressed 3 mm. and 10 mm. respectively when subjected to a constant load of 2 kp. cm.<SP>-2</SP> and a rising temperature in a furnace.
