Abstract

1368859 Reinforcement spacers and connecting elements M F SKOLD 28 Feb 1972 [2 March 1971] 9016/72 Heading E1W Resilient plastics spacers 11 are formed in a U-shaped configuration with aligned recesses 24, 24' in each leg and have opposed flexible webs 27, 27' extending from the inner surface of each leg respectively adjacent the bridging portion. These webs, which may be interconnected by a frangible portion 28 serve to resiliently engage an upper bar which extends longitudinally between the legs 21, 21' and which is held in place by engagement with the transverse bar resiliently held in the recesses 24, 24' by lugs 25, 25'. Outwardly extending support flanges 23, 23' on each leg may be provided which underlie recesses 24, 24' to provide greater support for a reinforcement rod engaged in them. The spacers may be fixed by a tool in which they are held joined together in a strip by frangible studs 32, 32'.
