Abstract

1368123 Swimming pools BIWATER TREATMENT CO Ltd 2 Nov 1972 [9 Nov 1971] 51986/71 Heading A4N [Also in Division B1] A swimming pool is provided with means for removing scum and surplus water, said means comprising a plurality of aligned channel members defining a main collecting channel 6 and a raised edge or barrier 8, each member having at least one depression 9 located so that there is a constant flow of water into the channel 6 across the weir formed by the depressions 9 as purified water enters the pool. The channel is substantially continuous and leads to an outlet or a small number of outlets communicating with filtering and/or purification devices from which the water is recirculated to the pool. The channel members have a rearwardly extending rim 19 and support a bedding layer 7 and tiles 11, 12. The tiles 12 have depressions forming a drain gutter 13 communicating with the channel 6 via pipes 14 and ducts 17, said gutter receiving surface water on the pool upper rim.
