Abstract
1367556 Blowing lances MESSER GRIESHAM GmbH 14 July 1972 [15 July 1971] 33100/72 Heading F4B A blowing lance with a central oxygen pipe 16 and coaxial outer pipes 12, 14 for cooling water is of welded construction with a thermal compensation part in at least one of the coaxial pipes and the nozzle end of the lance is coated with a metal of high thermal conductivity. Spacers 22 and a helical guide 28 space the cooling pipes 12, 14, and the outer pipe 12 has two telescoping sections 46, 48 connected to the body parts by metallic bellows-members 42, 48 to compensate for thermal expansion. The expansion device is enclosed in a casing 38. The nozzle end of the lance is coated with copper or other metal of high thermal conductivity. An intermediate layer of alloy ensures the adhesion of a coating built up by welding to the steel lance head and body.
