1366264 An electric personal protection device H M MARKS 6 Feb 1973 [7 Feb 1972] 5851/73 Heading F3C An electric personal protection device has electrically conductive wires 16, 18, Fig. 1, which are coiled around a member 12 of synthetic plastics material in a two-start thread fashion, a vibrator 37, Fig. 4, which converts direct current electrical input from batteries 20, Fig. 2, located within the member 12, and a transformer 34 for stepping up the input voltage of the vibrator 37 to provide a desired output voltage across the wires 16, 18, the transformer 34 having a rod-shaped armature 44 with a primary coil 40 and a set 42 of secondary coils 46 connected in series, the secondary coils being located longitudinally adjacent each other and adjacent the primary coil along the length of the armature 44. The positive pole of the series of batteries 20 is connected via a contact 22 through wire 24 to an on-off switch 26, Fig. 3. The negative pole of the batteries 20 is connected via a compression spring 28, Fig. 2, and a screw 30 to an external metal portion 32, Fig. 1, which is connected to the coil wire 16, the latter being connected to the transformer 34. The switch 26, Fig. 3, is connected to a set of points 36 of the vibrator 37 and a condenser 38 is connected across the points 36. The set of points 36 is connected with the primary coil 40 of the transformer 34 and the positive take-off from the set 42 of secondary coils 46 is connected with the wire 18. When the circuit is energized by switching on the switch 26 a high voltage potential is generated between the wires 16 and 18.
