Abstract

1366020 Recovering paper-making fillers from paper mill sludge STERLING DRUG Inc 2 Nov 1972 [23 Nov 1971] 50605/72 Headings C1A C1N and C1C [Also in Division C4] Inorganic fillers are recovered from paper mill waste sludge by heating the sludge in an O2-containing gas at 160-375‹ C. at a pressure which will maintain the water in the liquid phase, and separating the solids. Preferred fillers are TiO2, CaCO3, and clay. The sludge is that obtained on clarification of "white water".
