Abstract

1365016 Stereoisomers of di-sec.-butylamine WHITEFIN HOLDING SA 23 Oct 1972 [30 Oct 1971] 48782/72 Heading C2C The novel stereoisomers of di-sec-butylamine are prepared by reacting an optically active see.-butylamine with racemic sec.-butyl chloride, bromide, fluoride, p-toluenesulphonate or sulphate, and separating the thus formed S,S or R,R salt of di-sec.-butylamine from the corresponding salt of the S,R or R,S compound by fractional crystallization at a temperature of about 0‹ C. from a polar organic solvent, e.g. acetone, or an acetone-ethanol mixture, and converting the salts obtained to the free base.
