Abstract

1365005 Curtains CUSTOMAGIC MFG CO Ltd 11 Jan 1973 [23 March 1972] 13555/72 Heading A4S [Also in Division D1] A pleat construction in a curtain 10 or drapery fabric comprises a substantially W-shaped fold in the curtain, the outer limbs of the W-shape being sewn together at 22, the middle V- of the W-shape encompassing a folded strip 13 of fabric, the two limbs of which are sewn together at 17 with the limbs of the middle V- of the W- shape. As shown, the top edge of the curtain 10 is folded over to form a pelmet 12 and the double thickness of curtain is formed into V-shaped folds 11. A folded fabric strip 13 is inserted into each fold 11 so that the folded ridge 14 of the strip 13 faces out of the fold 11 and is held by stitches 17. The curtain 10 is folded at each side of each fold 11 along lines 18, 19 to form a W-shaped fold the outer limbs 20, 21 of which are stitched at 22. The curtain 10 is folded at 23, 24 so that the pleat extends approximately perpendicularly to the plane of the fabric. The pleat is completed by stitching at 25.
