1364993 Beta-keto derivatives of phenylethylamines INSTITUT TOKSIKOLOGII 23 Oct 1972 [5 June 1972] 48658/72 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the formula wherein R is C 6 H 5 CH 2 CH 2 NH-; C 6 H 5 CH 2 CH- (CH 3 )NH-; C 6 H 5 CH 2 CH 2 N(C 2 H 5 )-; and organic acid or mineral acid salts thereof. They may be prepared by condensing a linear or cyclic phenylethylamine with 6-acetylbenzo- 1,4-dioxane and formaldehyde or by reacting a linear or cyclic beta-phenylethylamine with 6 - # - dimethylaminopropionylbenzo - 1,4 - dioxane in an organic solvent in the presence of an alkaline agent. The compounds of the invention exhibit peripheral adrenoblocking and hypotensive action.
