1364662 Draughting machines MUTO INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 27 July 1971 [27 July 1970 11 Sept 1970 30 Nov 1970 28 Dec 1970 30 Dec 1970 13 April 1971] 47345/73 Divided out of 1364661 Heading G1X A draughting machine comprises a draughting head 102 provided with a protractor 137 and a ruler device 164, 165, a dial gauge 197 being connected by way of gears to the protractor in such a way that angular displacement of the ruler device relative to the protractor can be indicated by the protractor and the dial gauge. As shown, the ruler device is fixed to a base-plate 145 which is rotatable by a handle 130, the base-plate 145 rotatably supporting a gear 183 which meshes with a gear 184 fixed to the protractor and a pinion attached to a shaft 200. The shaft also supports a pointer 201 for movement relative to a scale in the casing of the dial gauge. The draughting machine, as shown, comprises an X-carriage 25 having rollers for movement along an X-rail 12 adjustably fixed to a drawing board 11, the X-carriage 25 being provided with a manually adjustable brake and supporting a Y-rail 26 along which a Y-carriage is movable. The Y-carriage also includes a manually operable brake and is connected to the draughting head 102 by way of parallelogram linkage mechanism 103.
