Abstract

1364191 Roller conveyers DEMAG AG 20 Jan 1972 [8 March 1971] 2756/72 Heading B8A Each group of rollers of an accumulation roller conveyer comprises a primary driven roller 2 and a plurality of secondary rollers 3 driven by the roller 2. One or more idler rollers may be disposed between adjacent groups and each group is provided with an article feeler 21 which controls a dog-clutch of the roller 2. The clutch has springs 9 which normally urge recesses 7a into engagement with flanges 8a of a driven chain wheel 8. Disengagement of the clutch is caused by depression of the feeler 21 of the roller group immediately downstream of the roller 2, the feeler being connected to clutchoperating arms 13 by a cable 19. The rollers 3 are driven by a chain 12 from the roller 2 but, to enable the rollers 3 to be gradually brought up to speed when the dog-clutch is engaged, a slip clutch including cup springs 33 is also provided on the roller 2. The chain 12 also drivingly connects all the rollers 2. (For Figures see next page.)
