Abstract
1363507 Photo-conductive coating FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 16 Sept 1971 [17 Sept 1970] 43318/71 Heading G2C A porous photo-conductive coating on a support is prepared by applying to the support a coating composition comprising an inorganic photo-conductive powder, a resinous binder and a third component to form a coated layer and removing the third component from the layer to produce the porous coating, the third component being removed by dissolution, sublimation or thermal decomposition. In the embodiments (a) naphthalene is removed from a mixture of ZnO, acrylic ester modified alkyd resin and a polyisocyanate by sublimation, (b) tricresyl phosphate is removed from a mixture of ZnO and copoly vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate by solution in an isoparaffin, (c) dioctyl phthalate is removed from a mixture of ZnO, styrenated alkyd resin and a polyisocyanate by solution in an isoparaffin, (d) monoacetin is removed from a mixture of ZnO, TiO 2 and melamine formaldehyde resin after curing by solution in methanol and (d) polyethylene glycol is removed from a mixture of ZnO, CdS, CdCO 3 and copoly styreneacrylic acid by solution in kerosene. Many other materials are specified for the third component including liquid plasticizers and thermoplastic resins and solvents for their removal.
