Abstract

136,340. Edgeworth, K. E. Jan. 20, 1919. Telephonic repeaters; duplex and multiplex system.-A repeater for amplifying currents in a phantom circuit comprises two transformers 3, 4 connecting the two circuits A, B on which the phantom is superimposed to one side of a balanced repeater R<3>, the other side of which is connected tn an artificial line X. Repeaters R<1>, R<2> for the circuits A, B are. arranged as described in Specification 131,114. The primaries of the transformers 1, 3 are wound so that the phantom currents do not affect the secondary connected to repeater R<1>, while the loop currents do not affect the secondary connected to repeater R'. The transformers 2, 4 are similarly arranged.
