Abstract

1363286 Unwinding means GERNYL 2 Aug 1971 [15 June 1971 21 July 1971] 36204/71 Heading D1J Each bobbin carrier B is rotated in its unwinding direction by a motor M and the yarn F is drawn off via a yarn guide G that is fixedly positioned coincident with the axis of rotation of its associated bobbin carrier, there being means for intermittently interrupting rotation of said bobbin carrier or carriers whereby yarn is offwound therefrom at a rate substantially in accordance with the rate of consumption of said yarn by a machine. In Fig. 1 each bobbin B is housed in a cupshaped plate P covered by a bell-shaped member C in which there is an axial hole O through which the yarn emerges. The motor M may drive a bobbin spindle in the cup P; or it may drive the cup P in which the bobbin then rests. In Fig. 2 the motor M drives a female element E2 via a reduction gearing R. The male element E1 is rigid with the cup P. Automatic switching means, such as delayed-action relays, semi-conductors, torque regulators, &c, are interposed in the motor circuits to produce the intermittent rotation of the bobbin carriers.
