Abstract

1362687 Radio receivers VOXSON SpA 20 July 1971 [29 Oct 1970] 33921/71 Heading H3Q [Also in Division H1] In a car radio system comprising a support frame 1 adapted to be mounted within a car and having a recess for receiving a radio set, on the rear wall of the support frame 1 there is provided connector means 8, 9 for connecting the radio set in its operative position within the support frame with an electric power source, loud-speaker and antenna, a locking bolt is provided within the support frame for automatically locking the radio set within the support frame and a key operated lock 5 is provided for unlocking the locking bolt to allow the removal of the radio set from its support frame. The metal support frame 1 has two fins 2 with holes for fixing to the dashboard of a car. The frame 1 cannot be removed from the car when a radio set is fitted since a front member 6, fixed by screws 7, covers the fixing fins 2. The radio is automatically locked in by a bolt which slides under an upper stiffening metal element 3 and the bolt can only be released by a cylinder lock 5 operated by a key 4. A connector 8 for the power supply and the speaker and a connection 9 for the antenna co-operate with corresponding members on the radio when it is inserted. A spring 10 makes earth contact between the radio and the support 1 and assists in ejection of the radio when key 4 is operated to unlock the bolt. The radios which can be received in the support 1 are of the keyboard type (12, Fig. 2, hot shown) which can have an electronic search for the stations and operating on VSW SW, MW and LW or (13) for MW and LW with two keys for waveband switching and manual tuning or (14) for MW with manual tuning and (15) a receiver which may also include a reproducer of stereophonic music from magnetic tape cartridges.
