Abstract

136,227. Hare, F. Dec. 6, 1918. Water-supply fittings. Relates to arrangements for filling the water tanks in railway or like vehicles, of the kind in which the inlet pipe 3 extends downwards from the tank 1 and is provided with a cam nozzle 4 for connection of the supply hose at a point accessible from the ground or platform, means being provided to indicate the level of the water in the tank. According to the invention, a glass water gauge 6 of ordinary construction is combined with the tank, the filling- arrangement comprising either an inlet pipe 3 with nozzle 4, as shown, or an inlet pipe provided with a funnel arranged at the level of the tank, and a supply hose having a rigid tube or spout of sufficient length to project within the funnel while the operator is on the ground or platform.
