1360126 Antioxidant compositions E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 12 May 1972 [21 May 1971] 22491/72 Heading C3F An antioxidant composition consists of a dispersion of an antioxidant which is a high temperature reaction product of diphenylamine and acetone (as herein defined) in an aqueous solution of methyl cellulose and an alkali metal or ammonium alkyl sulphate surfactant. The dispersion contains at least 25% by weight of the reaction product and the solution, which has a viscosity of between 3 and 2000 centipoises, may contain up to 3% by weight of the surfactant. The antioxidant is in the form of droplets of which at least 90% have an microscopically observed particle size of less than 1À5Á. The methyl cellulose has a methoxyl content of 27À5 to 31À5% by weight and a viscosity in a 2% aqueous solution of 10 to 1000 centipoises.
