Abstract

1359874 Electrostatic separators; cyclone separators BRONSWERK APPARATENBOUW NV 19 Oct 1971 [19 Oct 1970] 48601/71 Headings B2J and B2P Liquid or solid particles are separated from a fluid by bringing the fluid and particles into turbulence, passing some through an electric field of a strength sufficient to charge the particles so that they behave as dipoles, and then through a mechanical separation device. As shown, fluid and particles are passed sequentially through a cyclone 1, an electrostatic filter 3 comprising a negative rod electrode 5 axially supported in a positive tubular electrode 4 and finally through a cyclone 8 to separate coagulated particles.
