1359842 Photographic cameras AGFAGEVAERT AG 5 July 1971 [3 July 1970] 31439/71 Heading G2A A camera for use with percussive flash-cubes 8 is provided with a release lever 3 which is operable to free impact members 6 in an attached cube; with a spring 4 urging the release lever 3 out of contact with an impact member 6; with a drive lever 19 for driving the release lever 3 towards an impact member; and with a control lever 12 which frees the release lever 3 from the drive lever 19 so that the spring 4 can return the release lever to its initial position. In use, fitting a flash-cube 8 depresses an actuating member 17, thus pivoting a locking lever 15 and allowing the parts to take up the positions shown. Depression of a handle 24 pivots a lever 22, thus freeing the drive lever 19 to run down. The motion thereof causes the control lever 12 to move in direction B, and, since the lever 12 is pivoted on the release lever 3, also pivots the release lever 3 in direction C. A shutter opening blade 26 follows an extension 21 of the lever 19, due to a spring 28. Continued rotation of the drive lever 19 causes the control lever 12 to engage spindle 2 of the release lever 3 Fig. 3, (not shown). The levers 3, 12 then rotate together, an arm 5 of the lever 3 initiating the flash operation, while the lever 12 escapes from the extension 21. The spring 4 then returns the levers 3, 12 to their initial positions, while a spring 14 causes the lever 12 to press against the underside of the extension 21 Fig. 4, (not shown). In another embodiment Fig. 5, (not shown), the release lever (51) acts on a feeler lever (70) to initiate a flash operation. Insertion of the flash-cube (68) besides pivoting the locking lever (62) as before, also pivots the feeler lever (70) to sense whether the impact member (77) has already been operated. A signal tab is pivoted into the camera view-finder if the lamp is burnt out.
