Abstract
1286663 Photographic cameras EASTMAN KODAK CO 9 Oct 1969 [11 Oct 1968] 49609/69 Heading G2A A photographic camera, having a holder 3 for receiving a percussion-ignitable flash-lamp unit in such a way that one of the ignition tubes 2 thereof is located at a firing position, is provided with means 30 for actuating the camera shutter 5 and striking the so located tube 2, the means comprising a pair of levers 32, 33 coupled together for common movement by a weak spring 34, but the coupling allowing of one of the levers moving to its operating position after the other lever has reached its operating position. The arrangement is shown cocked. Sequence of events A tab 11 of an operating lever 10 is depressed, thus causing an extension 15 thereof to rotate a release lever 20 clockwise (as seen) to free the means 30 for anti-clockwise movement due to a spring 39 attached to the drive lever 32. The striker lever 33 follows lever 32 due to contact of spacing extensions 36, 37. Eventually the lever 32 is stopped by a surface 50, but the lever 33 continues due to its inertia and eventually a portion 33a strikes an ignition tube 2 to fire the associated lamp. Before the lever 32 stops, its end 32a passes into a shutter actuating zone A and so operates the camera shutter. After percussive contact, the light spring 34 retracts the lever 33 so that the extensions 36, 37 are again in contact. During film advance, a cam 45 is rotated anticlockwise, thus causing a slider 41 to contact an arm 40 of the lever 32, Fig.2 (not shown) and rotate the unit 30 back to the position shown against the action of the drive spring 39. The end 32a rides over the end 27 of the release member 20. The camera shutter can be a pivotally mounted blade, Fig.3 (not shown), or have drive mechanism which is released upon impact by the end (32a) Fig.4 (not shown) or be electrically operated under the control of the lever (32) Figs.5 and 6 (not shown).
