Abstract

1359418 Wiper apparatus FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 19 Jan 1972 [20 Jan 1971] 2662/72 Heading G2X An apparatus for removing excess developer liquid from sheets 18, Fig.1, comprises a pair of nip rollers 10, 12 provided at both ends with flanges 11, 13 for holding marginal edges of the sheets as they are advanced by the rollers the outlet ends of which are enclosed in air blast boxes 16, 17 whose walls 20, 22 define with the roller periphery a warm air blast nozzle for direction of a stream of air in a direction opposite to the direction of sheet motion 19, whereby the liquid adhering to the faces of the sheets 18 is formed into droplets 24, 25 which are finally blown off. In a modification the flanges are replaced by grooves in which are located endless belts 34, Fig.4, and the apparatus is incorporated in an electrographic developing apparatus provided with a liquid developer discharge tube 43. The sheets 180 are then passed into a chamber 45 in which a cleansing liquid is discharged from a tube 52 and the cleansed sheets are then passed to an air drying chamber including air blast boxes 48, 49 and rollers 47a, b and 54a, b.
