Abstract

1359190 Conveyer rollers H PIERRET L PIERRET G PIERRET M PIERRET and J M PIERRET 15 Oct 1971 [15 Oct 1970] 47963/71 Heading B8A Fibrous material which escapes laterally while being conveyed on a roller 1 is prevented from jamming the roller by the action of annular grooves 6 from which, when the grooves are partially filled, the material is drawn by the material being normally conveyed on the roller. Each groove 6 is formed in a stationary plate 2 which extends with clearance 13 into the end of the roller. A watertight seal 9 is secured to the roller. In a modification, Fig. 2, the groove 6 is formed in the roller and the seal 9 is secured in the plate 2. The roller may be used with a conveyer belt.
