Abstract
135,752. Barton, J. H. April 9, 1919. Field, marine, and opera glasses.-To provide for the maintenance of parallelism during the inter-ocular adjustment of prism binoculars, the bodies C are supported by a main piece A of bar or tubular cross-section and are moved equally and simultaneously inwards and outwards along this main piece by means of a pinion L engaging racks on sliding pieces B attached to the bodies, and through which the main piece slides. From a downward extension D of the main piece, and on each side thereof, extend guide-rods E sliding in the bodies to provide greater rigidity. Focusing of the eyepieces is performed from a milled head O on the central spindle L', which acts, on rotation, to raise or lower a guided bar N engaging lugs R projecting from the eyepieces.
