Abstract

1357388 Latches; stud and socket fastenings D HOOBER and C FRANKEL 20 Sept 1971 43748/71 Headings E2A and E2B A jewelery clasp comprises a hollow cylindrical member 10 having a cap 20 fitting on a shoulder 19 and a blade spring 24 secured at one end in a groove in the member 10 and at the other end to an apertured catch 16 which is supported thereby in a notch 22 in the cap, a cylindrical member 11 is slidable in the member 10 so that a nose 12 thereon projects into the cap and the catch abuts a groove 15 adjacent the nose. The member 11 is released from the member 10 by depressing the catch to disengage it from the groove in the member 11. The cap and the member 11 are fitted with rings 13 for attachment to a necklace, bracelet or watchband. The clasp may be rectilinear and the internal aperture of the member 10 may have any shape corresponding to the cross section of the member 11. The clasp may be made of metal or plastics.
