Abstract

1356785 Charging liquefied gas storage bottles CRISPLANT AS 7 June 1971 [15 June 1970] 28860/70 Heading F4P Apparatus for recharging a valve bottle 4, Fig 1, with liquefied gas, e.g. propane, comprises a holder 14 having an aperture 16, Fig. 2, for receiving and clamping the bottle in such a position that a side stud 22 of the bottle is sealingly engaged with a connector (not shown) which in turn is connected to a vacuum line 24; the holder also having means, not shown, for opening the bottle valve 20, inverting the bottle and after the residual propane has been withdrawn through vacuum line 24 for connecting the stud 22 to a filling line 26 and thereafter closing the valve 20 and releasing the bottle 4 from the holder. A plurality of upright empty bottles fed by a conveyer 2 are in turn fed in a horizontal position into one of four clamping apertures 16 in holder 14 which is then rotated stepwise by a cam 20, the filled bottle being released in an upright position on to a conveyer 30.
